The Radcliffe-on-Trent Golf Club is within easy reach of Nottingham, Leicester, Newark and Grantham and offers a superb 18-hole parkland course measuring 6374 yards, par 70, with three of the most challenging finishing holes in Nottinghamshire. The Golf Club was founded in 1909 with approximately 40 acres of land, and affords splendid views over the Vale of Belvoir, the castle itself appearing in the background.
It has plenty of natural and man-made hazards ready in waiting to liven up your round and provide you with a stern test of your abilities. Whether high or low handicapper, this course will soon tell you exactly how good you are. There is plenty to excite the more discerning player without intimidating those new to the game and it has certainly claimed more than its fair share of scorecard casualties in its time. Keep your concentration, temperament and guile to avoid becoming another of its victims. Laid out on part-wooded parkland, it also has a fine setting for a round of golf. But don't just take out word for it - try it yourself! (Radcliffe-on-Trent '08)
A notoriously tough track for TGS players, ranked 2nd of 14 (’06) and 3rd of 10 (’07) in difficulty, although the weather may well have contributed to the low scores. only 4 of 8 finishing in 2006 due to persistent heavy rain and the course playing very long in 2007 due to similar weather patterns. 2008 appears to be no different with showers forecast but allegedly easing off between 4.30 and 9 on Wednesday! Horsburgh Jnr has featured well on both occasions, somehow racking up 38 points (’06) for a record 9 point winning margin from Hepburn (29). The Preston Potter, Jim Dean (37), is the only other man to have beat the 36 point margin with a 3 point victory in 2007 over Baker Jnr (34) and the Swindon based Ladd (33)
18 confirmed: Tuckwell Jnr, Horsburgh Jnr, Hefter, Hood, Cooke, Jenkinson, Duffin, Vin, Hall, Dean, Horsburgh Snr, Radford and Daft are all following up their Chilwell outings accompanied by Baker Snr and Hepburn. Ball and Thacker are on debut with the late 90’s Tangerine mystery guest.

Whether young or old we hope you enjoy your golf and the clubhouse facilities, all we ask is that in return you leave the course, as you wish to find it, and take care of yourself and each other...
